Foreign Correspondent - ABC - to tell our story on Feb 24th

In November 2008 we spent the first week of our visit with Sunama accompanied by a film crew from the ABC program "Foreign Correspondent".

We have heard from them that our program will go to air on national television in Australia at 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday 24th February. I hope those who have followed our story and read "Love Our Way" will find the program insightful, and that it will help people understand the incredible pain caused by child traffickers.

IF YOU MISSED THE SHOW ... you can watch it online here

To Anonymous from New Zealand,
You can probably view the documentary on the ABC website at www.abc.net.au/foreign

To Julia,
I have read your book and also watched the Foreign Correspondent report the other night.

I am full of admiration for you and your family and glad that you have been able to turn such a heartbreaking situation into something so positive.

It is so tragic that other families in poor countries continue to suffer from the same fate as Sunama and the other couple depicted in the Foreign Correspondent story.

There was also a Four Corners program on child trafficking in China last year which was quite heart breaking. Terribly widespread there too. In common with India, the main victims seem to be poor people.

All the best to you and your family (both the Indian and Australian "chapters").

Hi Julia,

I am very impress by your compassion for being so generous and kind to Akil and Sabila's family. I hope you have inspired many people who adopted children in other countries to do the same in finding out the truth. We can take a minute to imagine what the feeling was like for Akil and Sabila's mother when the children were stolen.Wish you a long and happy life.

Thanks for posting the link. As I live in the U.S. I wouldn't have been able to see this otherwise.

As a mom of a child born in India- it makes me question so much about her adoption. Things I may never find answers to, but at least I now have the questions.

I've just finished reading your wonderful book Julia and I was so impressed with all you and your husband Barry have done and are still doing to help Sunama and her family...your family.

Is there a way I could help Sunama and her family financially ..even with a small monthly donation.

They have so little and we are blessed in this country with so much.

I have 9 healthy, happy grandchildren of my own and I would like to help in some way.

Maybe I could send parcels to them..something.

If I can help in some way, please let me know.

sincerely,

Barbara Little

I am an Indian born in S. Africa and now living in Australia. I have read your book and was overwhelmed by the dedication and love shown by you, Barry and your 'biological children'. Your children have shown emotional maturity beyond their tender years to share their parents with later additions to the family. Many people pay lip service to the concept of Unity in Diversity but your family has put it into practice. May the Lord shower His blessings on your family. I will contact you later to see if there is any way I could help.

Hello.
(I'm french, sorry for my english!) I just discover your story, that's incredible, wonderful and sad at the same time. in this situation I think you had the better reaction because when you learn it, it's impossible to stay at home comfortably. You are a lovely family. I hope during all their life your children will see their first mother and children in India.
My dream was to adopt in India, now I know it's not as easy as it.

I wish you hapiness.
Laure.

You and your family are truely absolutely amazing! In the world we are living in today it is mind blowing to hear about what you have done and are doing for Sunama and her family.
It is hard to express in words the emotions that i feel by what i have red in your book. I felt that i had to at least share your story and I put the web address on my facebook and I also highly recommanded your book. I sincerely hope that many many people will be compelled to help Sunama and other families in India, and that inter-country adoption will be dealth with more thoroughly or opend people eyes!
Please keep us inform of the family's progress.

It took me two slow afternoon shifts at work to read your story and I was actually sad at the end that the book had ended.

I truly thank you and your family for the support you have provided to your children's 1st family, indeed you epitomise my idea of the perfece parent. Families fracture for all sorts of reasons and yours has crossed so many boundaries and has still remained sucessful. I do wish other blended families could adopt the same approach more often!
